Attention EMPLOYERS - Second Quarter Employment Security Fund Tax Statements

Second Quarter Employer Tax Statements (TX17) will be mailed during the first full week of July. The Rhode Island Department of Labor & Training had delayed mailing employer statements pending passage of legislation to temporarily waive an additional employer surtax.
The additional 0.3% employer surtax—levied every quarter that the net balance of the Rhode Island Employment Security Fund falls below zero—has been suspended for the period that federal borrowing by state employment security funds remains interest-free. This means that no additional surtax will be included in TX17s through December 31, 2010.
